♦ CALL TO WORSHIP (Unison)
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for God has looked favorably on God’s people and
redeemed them. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for God has called us God’s own
beloved and called each of us by name. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for God has
blessed God’s creation and called us to worship. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel!
♦ HYMN All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name #263
♦ PRAYER FOR NEW BEGINNINGS (Unison)
God of the new day, at the dawning of the first day you spoke creation into being and
declared it good. You crafted each flower and vegetable and bird of the air and beast of
the land, and there at all of it was Jesus the Christ. We give thanks for the dawning of
this day and pray we might know your holy triune presence in all we see and do. Guard
our hearts, minds, spirits, and bodies that we, too, might sing the goodness of creation
and remember your call to be good stewards of it all. Amen.
♦ PASSING OF THE PEACE (Responsive)
Deep peace of the running wave to you. Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you. Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you.
The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.

♦ AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Unison) Confession of Belhar
We believe that God has entrusted the church with the message of reconciliation in and
through Jesus Christ. We believe that the church is called to be the salt of the earth and
the light of the world.
We believe that the church is called blessed because it is a peacemaker. We believe that
the church is witness both by word and by deed to the new heaven and the new earth in
which righteousness dwells

THANKSGIVING
PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION / LORD’S PRAYER (Responsive)
Sisters and brothers in Christ, for the sake of the world that God so loves, let us pray.
We pray for peace in every nation—that people will turn their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks and study war no more.
Pray for the peace of the church.
We pray for peace in Christ’s body—put an end to fear and fighting and help us to
proclaim in word and action the good news of salvation to all.
Pray for the peace of this community.
We pray for peace in this place—for safety in our homes and streets, for the prosperity
of our neighbors, and for the health of family and friends.
God of the future, make us ready as we work for the fullness of your reign, when you will
bring everlasting peace and renew the face of the earth.
We pray in the name of the One who showed us the way of love, and taught us to pray
saying…
Our Father…
